Dan is a partner of the firm and has over 15 years of investing and transaction experience in the food and consumer products sector. Dan focuses on evaluating, executing, and managing Kainos’ investment opportunities and is a member of the firm’s investment committee.  Prior to Kainos, Dan was a senior member of the food and consumer group at HM, having joined that team in 2004.

At Kainos, he is surrounded by people he respects and from whom he is always learning. He appreciates the journey of building successful businesses and partnering with management teams with the goal of accelerating their growth.  Developing relationships with highly accomplished entrepreneurs, business owners, and management teams is one of the most rewarding elements of his career.

Dan started his career in the Mergers & Acquisitions department of Morgan Stanley in New York.  He received his B.A. in Accounting and his Master of Professional Accountancy from Brigham Young University.

Dan is active with The Hopkin Family Society, his family foundation, which sponsors approximately 10 college students annually, primarily from Africa and South America.  Dan is a busy father of five children.  In his free time, he enjoys cooking and playing piano and guitar.
